📖 About Qualifying Service & Rounding Rules
Qualifying Service is the actual period of service used to calculate pension, gratuity, and other retirement benefits. It is calculated as:
Qualifying Service = Date of Superannuation − Date of Appointment − EOL − Period of Suspension
Rounding Rules (WB Govt.):
Months < 3 → rounded down (not counted)
Months ≥ 3 & < 9 → rounded to 6 months
Months ≥ 9 → rounded up to next year
Example: 23 yrs 7 mo → 23 yrs 6 mo; 23 yrs 9 mo → 24 yrs
